What is social care

Social care helps individuals get some extra support where they need it most.

We tailor our care to the needs of the individual and what will benefit them: some people may just be lonely or isolated while others may have mental and physical problems that require extra consideration.

Our specialist social care and companions bring joy into their lives, helping around basic and domestic chores like housework and shopping or providing some kind of companionship, reading, playing games or escorting them on outings and activities.

Whatever their situation, our social companionship care-sitting service helps them feel 100% supported and secure.

Everyone coming to us is thoroughly assessed by our qualified social care management team to ensure both the individual and their family’s needs and preferences are taken care of.

Our specialist social care workers will accompany you to social activities and events wherever possible - such as cinema, day centre, pub and other recreational activities.

A highly specialist area

This highly specialist area of nursing requires staff training which we invest in to ensure our team are experts and can carry out or respond to any activities.

As well as mandatory and statutory training, we provide the following specialisms:

Challenging behaviour
- Austism
- Dyslexia
- Epilepsy
Rectal diazepam and buccal midazolam administration
Gastronomy feeding (Peg feed)
Aspergers
ADHD
Tracheostomy

Our support team

We appreciate that everyone is unique and we respond accordingly to ensure quality of day-to-day life – even if behaviour can be challenging.

Our staff operate a system of person-centred planning and robust risk assessment, so we can guarantee your loved one is able to access opportunities and have fun. Ensuring consistency in the delivery of the behavioural plan is vital therefore to reduce any unnecessary incidents.

We strive to build the very best of relationships with those we’re privileged enough to be able to support.

We are fortunate in being able to support Reading Borough Council providing care services for adults and young people with learning disability and challenging behaviour.
